What do you mean by "caregiver support"?
Our call is to care for those who care for older adults. We provide social and informational events to connect caregivers who are often on their own. We have a network of trusted partners available to provide information/assistance when you need it the most.
We're also certified coaches. Caring for senior adults can be very hard and detrimental to your health. Your well-being is important! To support your loved one, you must take care of yourself.
But sometimes it's difficult to figure out where to start. If you're a primary caregiver and you're stressed, exhausted, eating poorly, physically beat, overwhelmed, or you just feel stuck, don't hesitate to reach out.
We've been there! We'll discuss your situation, help set goals, keep you accountable, provide resources/referrals, etc...whatever you need. We will meet you where you are.
How do I find out more about your events?
We offer in-person and virtual events to encourage caregivers to connect and share. Some gatherings are complimentary and others require a fee. Please visit Caregiver Corner, our Meetup site, for specific event details.
Why do I need coaching and how do I find out more?
Many of us become caregivers of our family/friends as they age or when tragedy strikes. Cognitive decline, falls, or physical illnesses can make it difficult for loved ones to live alone. Caregiving is challenging particularly when it happens suddenly. It can leave you feeling unprepared and overwhelmed.
Coaches help by asking questions, bringing an outside perspective, and holding you accountable. They listen, help prioritize, and provide encouragement. If you feel stuck while navigating the many changes and unknowns that come with caregiving, let’s connect.

What is respite?
Respite is a short period of rest. Basically, a break from your caregiving responsibilities. Seeking relief during the day is critical and encouraged for self-care. The respite provider keeps your loved one company while you take some time to breathe. Respiro encourages caregiver respite and partners with providers so that you're able to restore.
Where does respite happen?
Respite sessions happen can in your home, at adult day centers, or at partner locations (local churches, for example), to name a few. Contact us for recommendations.
What's in it for my loved one?
Social time! If they feel isolated or bored at home, for example, going out will be a change of pace and a good time to connect with others. Your loved one can participate in games, puzzles, arts/crafts, chair exercises, music activities, or not! They may prefer to read or engage in conversation.
Whether you drop off at a day center or the respite provider comes to your home, good companions will meet your person where they are…ask what they enjoy, what they’re in the mood for, and go from there.
What's in it for me?
Social time! Well, maybe . . . feel free to have lunch with a long-lost friend if that’s what you want. But you can also use the time to exercise, meditate, run an errand, get a massage, take a guitar lesson, dance all by yourself…you get the picture. It's all about self-care!
